Clearing the Way

January 26, 2011

Good news! We have finally cleared the area around my desk. After many hours of work the front room is 90% cleared of boxes of books. The attached room is 70% clear. The process is underway for sorting and cataloging the 4000 volumes and the 400 hand-written plays.

Look at all the journals.

The front room is almost cleared of boxes.

The sorting table with boxes around and on top of it.

Now here are some neat finds.

Found the AMLDC Constituton in one of the desk drawers.

And here is a recent donation to the collection.

A brief note: I have recently finished graduate school which I had been attending full time for the past year and a half. I now have a great deal more time to devote to the Library and learning more Polish.

It’s Gettin’ Hot in Here…

Due to the outrageous heatwave torturing the east coast I was unable to make it to the library this week. Instead, I have been researching grants. There a few really good ones, but I don’t think that I would be able to finish the one due on July 15th. Less than a few days to write a 20 page narrative, budget analysis, etc. it cannot be done. I will work on it and if this grant comes up again next year, I will be ready.
I will watch and wait for more grants to pop up. I think that if I complete one grant the others should be easier to write. Because I would already have written the narrative, the rest is crunching numbers.

Learn Polish!
